Jay Poswinski, LCSW
I work with individuals who feel overwhelmed, are navigating life changes, or are trying to make sense of difficult experiences — whether that’s anxiety, stress, family dynamics, grief, substance use, or something harder to put into words.
My goal is to create a space where you feel supported, understood, and able to move forward in a way that feels steady and realistic for you.
My Approach
I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy. That means we’ll work together to understand what’s going on, build on what’s already working, and find practical ways to handle challenges more effectively.
I also recognize that many people are navigating complex systems — family, school, healthcare, court systems, or other supports — and I bring that understanding into our work when it’s helpful. Therapy can be a place to sort through those layers, clarify what you need, and take the next step with more confidence.
Qualifications & Background
I bring over 20 years of experience working across state, municipal, and nonprofit settings. This has included supporting individuals and families connected to services such as mental health, developmental support, child and family services, and the court system.
Through this work, I’ve had the opportunity to support people from a wide range of backgrounds, strengths, and challenges — always with a focus on working together toward meaningful, realistic goals.
My background includes degrees in psychology, special education, and social work. I work with individuals across the lifespan and from diverse backgrounds.
